Gaga News
Everybody’s (read: my) favorite self-aware crazy-person meta-pop-performance-music-artist-fashion-monster, Lady Gaga has two bits of news worth relating that are just barely related to this blog, but enough that I will share them with you.
1. Is Lady Gaga a hermaphrodite? Doubtful. As Andy Towle put it “Though, given her predilection for pantslessness, you’d think we would have noticed by now.” That said, if she is, she is the hottest and most successful hermaphrodite in history. Who’s her competition you ask? Jamie Lee Curtis.
2. Gaga not quite a feminist, but sure sounds like one. Jezebel and Feministing strike the right tone on this one. My honest guess as to why she pulled back from the feminist label: it would make her easier to attack and dilute her brand. Let the feminists claim her and use her quotations, but Gaga is Gaga, not of your political party or this Earth.
