This very comic was put on stumble via the actual SMBC site in 2009. Why would I need to stumble it again, via popbioethics? Pointless. I'll steer away from this site for the vague annoyance of having to deal with duplicate content on stumble. Which is -not- fun.

It's beginning to look like a lot of large systems follow this pattern. Kelly's idea of evolving technology is much like the idea of evolving ideas--memes get a bit overhyped, but the underlying principle is sound. You're going to get this in any situation where something can be selected for replication and something else can be rejected, whether by the environment or by a particular organism.

steroid use for medium to long periods of time are dangerous for your long term health. Athletes should not have to worry about risking anymore than they already do for their profession, look up to them for it or not. maybe you should spend more time on the research and instead of just look up words to make yourself more secure in your argument however stupid it may be. you should have titled it "cocaine isn't bad" because thats about how relevant it is.

Agreed, that is why it says SMBC above the comic hot-linked to the source. Re-post with attribution is publicity, not theft.

I'd happily eat bugs - people do around the world, and I'm sure paleo-humans ate their fair share of insects, which would have been a great source of protein but require minimal calorie loss (as opposed to, say, hunting a mammoth).

Besides, shrimp and lobster are delicious delicacies, and they're kind of like bugs of the sea.
